…breaking down the economic, social and environmental silos of our society to create a caring, just world.”
When we first came up with the name Second Revolution Communications I remember thinking that the BIG question we are going to be asked, likely a lot, is “What is the second revolution”?
I wish the answer to this was self-evident and I wish we could say that we kick-started this movement into being. But the truth is that it’s more subtle—it’s a movement that has been growing and changing since at least the Second World War.
We believe the second revolution is about breaking down the economic, social and environmental silos of our society to create a caring, just world. It’s about developing cross-sector partnerships and strategies so we can grow support, create positive change and work for the betterment of our communities. We also believe that the issues we face, economically, socially and environmentally, are interconnected in operations and the impact they have in society (for example, investing in alternative energy can be good for the environment, the economy and the bottom-line of your company’s operations).
As I mentioned earlier, we didn’t start the second revolution but we’ve been doing our part, through our various positions and volunteer work over the past 20+ years, to support it and push it forward. And we look forward to doing so for many years to come.
Let us know what you think the second revolution is or will be!
